HARDIN COUNTY — A homeowner endured about 12 ft. of water after Tropical Storm Harvey poured into his home in Rose Hill Acres.
Now a patch of dirt is all that’s left, more than a year later.
“I’m paying $1,245 a month for a house that’s not even here.,” Tony Baird said.
Baird had to demolish his home, because the storm caused significant damage.
He and his family have been living in a FEMA trailer since November, 2017, only a few months after Harvey hit.
Baird is waiting for the state to approve his application for housing assistance to start repairing or rebuilding.
“Now we’re kind of just waiting the waiting game to see what’s going to happen with that,” Baird said.
